QUALIFICATION STANDARDS (Minimum)

Education:       Master’s Degree or Certificate in Leadership and Management

from the CSC

Experience:     4 years of supervisory/ management experience

Training:          40 hours of supervisory/ management learning and

development intervention undertaken within the last 5 years

Eligibility:         Career Service (Professional)/ or any Second Level Eligibility

  1. Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:
    • Recommends, formulates, and directs the implementation of plans, programs, projects, and activities in support of DTI Trusts and programs relating to the development and promotion of globally competitive trade and industry.
    • Attends and participates in the Executive Committee meetings, and acts as the Officer-in-charge of the province in the absence of the Provincial Director
    • Provides technical and managerial assistance to DTI clients;
    • Undertakes targeted & more aggressive investment and export promotion for priority industries
    • Provides customized interventions for Micro and SMEs for countryside development
    • Increases the number of MSMEs assisted and facilitate transition from the informal to the formal economy
    • Conducts advanced research and provides inputs for the preparation or updating of presentation materials, talk points, and speeches
    • Acts as a resource person for SME advocacy, as assigned
    • Reviews document proceedings of SME advocacy activities
    • Provides inputs in the draft TOR for the procurement of services for the development of MSME information materials
    • Supervises staff in the planning, implementation, and monitoring of Trade Promotion activities for the following:
    • Preparation of project proposals for conducting and participating in trade fairs, and attending trade missions.
    • Identification of trade fairs to be conducted.
    • Preparation of invitation letters for identified exhibitors in trade fairs target participants of trade missions and get confirmation of their participation.
    • Preparation of exhibit layout for booth assignments. Identification of exhibit modules, rental of venue and other logistical requirements in accordance with RA 9184
    • Identification and coordination with suppliers/BDS providers
    • Secure the confirmation of attendance of participants, i.e. guests, speakers, buyers, etc.
    • Preparation of promotional materials, trade fair kits, and tokens.
    • Supervises and monitors the accomplishments of activities of the division
    • Controls, disciplines subordinates and appraise performance of staff and provide assistance for further growth and improvement
    • Cooperates actively in the deliberations of internal committees formed for specific purpose/s.
    • Identifies and sources out funding requirements of the projects and established linkages with various agencies to facilitate effective implementation
    • Prepares and reviews outgoing communications and documents for the approval of the Provincial Director.
    • Directs, reviews, and evaluates the work of subordinate division personnel
    • Performs other related work
