A. General Function of the Position:

Under general supervision, assists in planning, executes and assists in evaluating programs, projects and activities; provides consultancy and extension services to clients; assists in the development and sustenance of strategic linkages both private and government to mobilize broad-based support for DTI policies and participation in DTI programs and activities; gathers, consolidates and conducts preliminary analysis of trade and industry-related data; performs job that may be assigned from time to time and does other related work.

B. Statement of Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintains and monitors consumer welfare desks;
  • Coordinates and assists in the conduct of consumer education drives and consumer empowerment campaigns;
  • Organizes and strengthens consumer groups
  • Conducts in-plant evaluation and draws samples of all types of standardized product of any stage of manufacturing process to determine if standards are met;
  • Process application of private emission testing centers and service and repair shops;
  • Conduct PETC on-site inspection;
  • Facilitates PCAB application for submission to PCAB, Manila;
  • Conducts verification/ site inspection of applicants for accreditation;
  • Prepare regional directory of repair and service shops accredited;
  • Prepare/ issue notices of mediation;
  • Process sales promo applications;
  • Prepares various monthly/ quarterly/ annual accomplishment reports;
  • Assists in the enforcement of fair-trade laws, intellectual property rights, product/ factory assessment and consumer act;
  • Prepares/ submit reports on fair trade laws monitoring enforcement;
  • Conducts studies and researches/ surveys on statistical methods of quality control in the manufacturing process pertaining to production, consumption, prices;
  • Performs other related functions
